Download more information on the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce Business Support The Town Centre Improvement Scheme (TCIS)The TCIS is a Council initiative, which aims to boost trade and encourage growth in the Borough’s town centres. Balham, Clapham Junction, Tooting and Wandsworth Town Centres are eligible as are areas of East Battersea, Tooting Bec, Mitcham Lane and Roehampton. Loans and grants are available for improvements to property, eyesore sites and shared rear access ways. Funding which is usually 25% of eligible costs can be made available up to £13,000 per property (£30,000 in the centre of Balham and £50,000 in Wandsworth). International Business Support (Apronet)Apronet is a virtual meeting point where people meet and exchange ideas and projects with other people. It provides European and International business contacts, with the ultimate aim to provide worldwide business contacts. High Street BanksOf course the major banks can be a source of finance through the usual methods of loans and overdrafts. They should also be able to provide and advise you on the conditions, grants and finance sources and eligibility for the Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme. London Business Growth FundThis is a London-wide fund providing loans of up to £20,000 for businesses that have been established for 12 months or more. The Prince’s TrustThe Prince’s Trust gives advice and finance for unemployed young people (18-30 years) starting in business. Loans of up to £5,000 and grants of up to £1,500 per business are available. Marketing grants are also available for the purpose of Test Marketing; you can obtain up to £250.
